About Elaine

Classical Singer

Elaine Huckle started singing in her early years at Trinity College with Irene Bell. During this period she sang at London Venues and also backed Peter Skellern’s records. She continued her studies with Mavis Bennett and then had opportunities to perform in the televised production of Benvenuto Cellini in the Berlioz Festival in Lyons. During this period she travelled throughout Europe with John McCarthy and Pro Musica Chorus and studied with coaches from Birmingham Conservatoire Stuart Smith and Janet Edmunds.

The Birmingham Conservatoire has shown great interest in Elaine and has written an article in their magazine about her life and career. Elaine now sings as a soloist in recitals and oratoria throughout the country.

Unfortunately, because of cancer her career was put on hold, but during this time she made a CD with Andrew Fletcher as organist for Cancer Research. Elaine worked with many schools during this period including King Edward VI School (Camp Hill) orchestra and choir and King Edward VI School (Five Ways) in Birmingham. She also performed with Robert Hamwee and Pro Musica Chorus and the Birmingham Conservatoire Orchestra. Anna Morris (Cellist) and Elaine performed arias from Julius Caesar and The Messiah.

Elaine is also very versatile and has sung at many places such as the Crystal Glass Centre and Burnham Market Festival, singing old favourites by Ivor Novello as well as Rule Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory. Sargents have worked with Elaine in Birmingham with the Midlands Hospital Choir and the Midlands Sinfonia. Nigel Morley conducted a Summer Concert where she performed Weber and Schubert. She sang with Andrew Jackman and his choir, the Cecilian Singers and Solihull School Chapel Choir and St Martins Girls Choir. Here she performed works by Cilea and Mascagni and contrasting folk songs.

Elaine has taken part in many radio interviews and Birmingham, West Midlands and Saga Radio have played her music. Last Christmas she sang in a final concert as she left Birmingham including South Birmingham Schools, all the proceeds of this went to Malawi. She also sang in Banbury in 2007 with Roddie Williams and the Accompanist of the Year. Louis Demetrius Alvanis heard her sing and asked her to perform at St John’s Smith Square. Consequently Elaine is a singer who is gaining recognition not only for her fight against cancer but also for her powerful and beautiful voice and she now works with international artists from all over the world.
